What is Therapy?
Therapy, also known as psychotherapy or professional clinical counseling, is a process of meeting with a therapist to identify and resolve problematic mental, emotional, relational, somatic (sensations in the body) and environmental (situational) problems. A therapist provides both clinical interventions and therapeutic techniques to change unhealthy patterns, self-destructive behaviors, and improve your relationships. Therapy is a collaborative process by which the counselor and client will co-create treatment goals for living your best life possible.
Benefits & Risks
Participation in therapy can result in numerous benefits that can improve personal, emotional, and social wellbeing. Therapy is an opportunity to have resolution of specific concerns and it is also a place to learn, heal, and grow from difficult experiences. That being said, therapy may also carry potential emotional risks. Exploring sources of trauma can be an emotional or mental burden, and making changes to your beliefs or behaviors can put you outside of your comfort zone. These circumstances may present certain challenges for your treatment progress, but I will be with you every step of the way. Overall, my goal is to provide you an invaluable experience, in which its benefits will remain with you for a lifetime.
Cancellation and No Show Policy
Cancellations under 24 hours and No Shows will be charged the full session fee.
Insurance & Private Pay

Other insurance companies may consider me as an out-of-network (OON) provider and may reimburse you for out of pocket expenses if you submit claims on your own behalf. Please call your insurance company to understand their reimbursement policy on superbills, if you are interested in using your insurance.
Private pay: If you do not choose to use insurance please inquire about my private pay rates. Sliding scale available on a case by case basis.
Benefits of going Out-of-network
Insurance providers require a clinical diagnosis from the DSM-V to justify medical necessity for your treatment. If you do not want a mental health diagnosis to be a part of your medical record then you may wish to use private pay.
Insurance providers can request access to progress notes in order to determine the length of treatment you may need. This can often disrupt or shorten the length of treatment before sufficient progress has been made. Private pay will allow us to determine how short or long your treatment length will be.
Depending on your coverage, insurance benefits can be subject to change at the first of every year. You may have a deductible that needs to be met or with employer-based benefits your insurance company can change at any time, which could prevent you from seeing your current therapist if they are no longer covered by your plan. Private pay ensures you can stay with the therapist you prefer.
